Our kind of nerdiness manifests as the ability to become totally fascinated by the most trifling things. We spent hours at CAFAM, first engrossed in their impressive gift shop (which is small but kept us in like a black hole), then looking in wonder at the amazing artifacts that people all over the world make from of straw.

The Feast of Straw, Harvest of Hope exhibit is only at CAFAM for another week. (As my dd observed, it's such a small museum that it would be very silly if the exhibits didn't rotate often.) But if the Feast of Straw is any indication, the subject matter here may be arcane, but it isn't silly and it's beautifully done.
